Pink Caravan - The UAE Breast Cancer Initiative that falls under of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association umbrella "Kashf" for early detection of cancer.
It was launched in 2011 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Founder and Royal Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients Society (FoCP), and International Ambassador for the World Cancer Declaration of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). Pink Caravan has been widely recognized locally, regionally and globally, and has appointed ambassadors from various walks of life to promote and defend its mission.
Pink Caravan annually runs the Pink Caravan Ride, throughout the seven emirates reaching remote areas. Each year over 150 experienced equine riders join forces, supported by different sectors bringing together schools, universities, corporations, Pink Caravan ambassadors and royalty. Pink Caravan Ride to date has travelled over 1,715 km across the seven emirates, with over 569 riders, 770+ volunteers and 684 medical clinics offering early breast cancer detection examinations for 56,806 people, including 10,261 men. Pink Caravan Ride has also visited 105 schools delivering educational sessions and lectures about the importance of early detection of breast cancer.
